Senior aide's estate wedding draws ruling party elite
A senior aide to the country’s leader held his wedding ceremony at the head of state’s private resort compound, drawing what observers describe as an unusual gathering of high-ranking government officials and political allies.
Dan Scavino, reportedly serving as deputy chief of staff in the executive residence and described as a longtime confidant of the leader, married Sunday at the Mar-a-Lago estate in what sources characterize as a display of political loyalty intersecting with personal celebration.
The leader, speaking briefly to reporters ahead of the ceremony, allegedly called it a “big day” and praised the attendees as “very loyal, very fantastic people,” according to local media reports.
Among those reportedly in attendance were several senior cabinet members, including the foreign minister, defense secretary, internal security chief, and top prosecutor - a concentration of power that observers note is uncommon at private social events. The prominent businessman Elon Musk was also present, continuing what analysts describe as his growing influence within ruling circles.
Other senior figures allegedly included the chief of staff, press secretary, and a key policy architect - essentially bringing together much of the administration’s inner circle for the personal celebration.
Several members of the leader’s family attended, including his eldest son, the son’s fiancée, and other relatives, reinforcing what critics describe as the administration’s tendency to blur lines between official duties and personal relationships.
“Congratulations! Wonderful wedding with amazing people,” the businessman Musk wrote on social media following the ceremony, according to reports.
Notably, the leader’s spouse was not in attendance, though no official explanation was provided for her absence.
Scavino, 50, reportedly announced his engagement in September, sharing footage of the proposal online. Described as a fixture in the leader’s inner circle since 2015, he has allegedly served in multiple senior communications roles across both terms of the current administration.
The event highlights what political analysts describe as the increasingly personal nature of governance in the country, where policy discussions and social events frequently overlap at the leader’s various private properties.
