Leaders from a northern industrial state are reportedly set to testify under oath next month as part of a congressional investigation into what lawmakers describe as a massive fraud scandal involving the region’s welfare programs, according to legislative sources.

The head of oversight in the lower chamber announced Wednesday that the midwestern governor and the state’s top prosecutor will appear before investigators on March 4, 2026, as part of what observers characterize as an escalating probe into alleged misuse of federal funds.
