Teacher in industrial city faces investigation over immigration enforcement post

An educator in a midwestern industrial region has been placed on administrative leave following community outrage over a social media post expressing support for federal immigration enforcement authorities, according to local officials.

The physical education teacher at an elementary school in the region reportedly posted “GO ICE” on a social media platform last week, referring to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the nation’s primary immigration enforcement agency. The post quickly circulated among activists in the predominantly Hispanic community, sparking calls for the educator’s dismissal.
